Painting and Powder Coating
Painting and powder coating are usually two of the most important parts of any restoration.
A good paint job can make a restoration go from great to awesome, where as a bad paint job can ruin the whole effect of the finished product and can make the rest of the work carried out on the project seem irrelevant, even if the rest of the work is faultlessly good.
Usually the paint work is the part that is "in your face" and is the first thing that draws the eye, so it needs to be done right.
Traditional wet paints and more modern dry powder coatings both have their places in a restoration or renovation.
On a motorcycle for instance you may want to have the wheels and frame powder coated to take advantage of the more resilient finish that you would expect to get with powder coating. This tougher finish will help against the inevitable stone chips and other road debris that can get thrown up at the motorcycle.
A fuel tank and panels however would probably be best coated with a tradition wet paint system.
Especially if you are after that show winning quality look.
